How 3-stage HEPA filtration works
Every particle of air the fan pulls in passes through three stages, in order. Stage 1, a carbon pre-filter, traps larger dust and lint and knocks down everyday odors—protecting the HEPA behind it so it lasts longer. Stage 2 is a genuine HEPA filter, 99.97% efficient at 0.3 microns, that captures dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, bacteria, and smoke particles. Stage 3, a VOC carbon filter, adsorbs the gases and volatile organic compounds released by cleaners, fresh paint, new carpet, and furniture. Because the housing is sealed top and bottom, the design helps prevent air from bypassing the filter cartridge.
